'Hay Fever' by Noel Coward
Glamour, poise and sparkling wit feature strongly in the latest offering from acclaimed Indulgence Theatre Company. Their hilarious production of Noel Coward's 'Hay Fever' opens at Lincoln's premier venue, the Drill Hall on November 3rd.
The play is rumoured to have been written by Mr Coward in just three days, working only before breakfast wearing a flowered dressing-gown!
Set in the 1920's, Hay Fever revolves around the weekend shenanigans of the slovenly, bohemian Bliss family. Having invited guests to spend the weekend with them in their Surrey home the family proceed to ignore, lambaste and humiliate the hapless guests, until, thoroughly beaten the guests turn tail and run.
Hay Fever's co-director Liz Lucas says:
With curtain-up in just a week the cast can hardly contain their excitement!
The ladies have had a ball trying on their beautiful handmade gowns and strutting about for a photo-shoot, and everyone is throwing themselves with gusto into the fabulous 20's atmosphere. Gin Sling anyone...?
With a beautifully designed period set and sumptuous costumes the play is sure to enchant and entertain.
